TROY (WWJ) — A Waterford man is in trouble with the law after police caught him going over 100 mph, allegedly while drunk.
It happened around 3 a.m. last Saturday, April 6, as the 31-year-old man was headed north on I-75, according to Troy police.
Officers stopped the man’s Toyota Corolla after they saw him speeding near Adams Road. When officers went to speak to him, they noticed he had bloodshot, glassy and watery eyes and he was slurring his speech.
Officials say his car also smelled like alcohol.
The driver refused to perform any field sobriety tests or take a breath test at the scene. The man was arrested and taken to the Troy Police Lock-Up, where his blood was drawn for a chemical test.
The case was turned over to the Troy Police Department’s Detective Bureau for appropriate warrants once the blood results are returned.
The man’s name has not been released.
