(WWJ) It's a big weekend for presidential visits in Michigan.

Aa early in-person voting begins in the state, former President Barack Obama will be in Detroit on Saturday for a rally with U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.

The "Get Out the Vote" rally for the Democrats is set for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 24, as Obama seeks to motivate voters and encourage a blue wave for the midterms on November 3.

The last time Obama visited Detroit was October 2024, during the presidential election.

Michiganders interested in attending the Democrats' rally can sign up at this link.

For the Republicans, President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Port Huron on Sunday, October 25, to rally voters.

Trump will be supporting local GOP candidates on the November ballot, including gubernatorial candidate John James and U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers. That rally begins at 1:30 p.m. at McMorran Place Arena in downtown Port Huron.

A sitting U.S. president has never traveled to Port Huron before; this would be the first. The Port Huron Police Department calls it an "exciting and historic opportunity."

The Port Huron PD said, in a statement, "The Office of the President represents one of the highest institutions of our nation's democracy. It is an office established by the United States Constitution and serves as a symbol of our country's democratic principles, including the freedoms, rights, and liberties that define us as Americans.

"Our department is committed to ensuring a safe and successful event for everyone involved, including those attending the event, local residents, and businesses." The police department added that it will be posting details as to parking restrictions, road closures, and traffic delays.

A limited number of tickets for the Trump event are available to the public at this link.

Not a president, but another big name in U.S. politics: There's also a "Michigan First Rally" with Senator Bernie Sanders and Abdul El-Sayed in Grand Rapids planned for Sunday. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., at the DeVos Performance Hall.

The event will be live-streamed across Sanders' social media platforms. Tickets for the Grand Rapids event are not required, but an RSVP is encouraged at this link.

Election day is November 3. For complete details on voting locations and registration requirements, the pubic can find official state election resources at the Michigan Department of State Voter Portal.
