
WYOMING, Mich. (WWJ) - Police said they apprehended a suspect in connection with a random stabbing that injured two men at a west Michigan Meijer Monday night.
Police spent most of Monday night looking for the suspect who they took into custody early Tuesday morning.
The names of the suspect has not been released.
Lt. Brian Look of the Wyoming Department of Public Safety, told FOX17 that two men were targeted by the suspect just before 8 p.m. Monday at the retail store off of Clyde Park Avenue in Wyoming, just south of Grand Rapids.
The two victims were found by police inside the store suffering from stab wounds. Authorities gave aid at the scene before the two men were taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
One victim, a 19-year-old man, was treated and later released. The other victim, a 74-year-old man, remains in the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Police said investigators are working to uncover a motive for the attack, but the stabbings appear random at this time.
Authorities gave no other details and the names of the victims have been withheld.
