The parents of two small children found in Detroit were eventually located, and the kids turned over to Child Protective Services after police issued an alert attempting to secure them.
The incident began at about 8:10 p.m. Tuesday when two small children who said their names were Bryson Rose, 3 and Ziara Rose, 2, were found wandering in the area of Alexandrine and the northbound John C. Lodge Service drive.
The children were observed by a citizen who was passing by in his vehicle. The Good Samaritan called 911 and waited with the children until police arrived. The children were then taken to the 3rd precinct. Police are canvassing the area in search of their parents.
It took awhile, but police said the father was eventually found, and they will eventually be placed with him. Unknown is who was watching the children when they wandered near a busy freeway in temperatures at or near freezing, and whether anyone knew they were gone.
Anyone with information on the situation is asked to call Detroit Police Third Precinct at 313-596-5301 or Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
