Lansing Police say the gunfire broke out around 1 a.m. Monday in Rotary Park, which is along the Grand River trail approximately across the water from the Michigan State Capitol.
Officers arrived to the scene to find a 19-year-old man dead from his wounds.
A 14-year-old girl was also shot. She was rushed to the hospital, where she is in stable condition.
While investigating the scene, officers received a call that two more victims walked into the local hospital with gunshot wounds.
A 16-year-old boy died from his injuries at the hospital. A 17-year-old boy was listed in stable condition.
The 19-year-old has been identified as Damon L. Johnson of Lansing.
The 16-year-old was identified as Marshawn M. Beard, also of Lansing.
Many questions remain about the shooting including the circumstances leading up to it, the motive, and who opened fire. Police did not specify if they believe the suspect is among the four teens, or if another person remains on the run.
