BAY DE NOC TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) - A weekend disagreement over a shared driveway in the Upper Peninsula spiraled out of control after one man fired a gun and grabbed a baseball bat during the fight while the other used a small tractor to defend himself.
As reported by WLUC, Michigan State Police said troopers from the Gladstone Post were dispatched to the the scene of a neighbor dispute involving a firearm on Stonington Peninsula in Delta County's Bay de Noc Township around noon on Saturday, March 23.
When authorities arrived, they discovered two neighbors -- a 79-year-old man and a 67-year-old man -- had a disagreement about the maintenance of their shared driveway.
The argument escalated, with the 79-year-old eventually producing a revolver and a baseball bat. He shot multiple rounds at the victim, which missed him, troopers said, before the younger man got into a small tractor and used to to pin the suspect to the ground.
In an update from WLUC, the suspect sustained injures in the altercation and was taken to UP Health Systems in Marquette where he remained hospitalized as of Monday afternoon. His condition remains unknown.
MSP said the incident remains under investigation. No other information was released by authorities.
