Upon arrival, deputies found that a 25-year-old man had been hit by a train and was dead on the scene.

After reviewing video, the sheriff's office said it appears that the man purposefully lied down on the tracks, although the investigation into exactly what happened is still ongoing.

The sheriff's office said that the young man is from out of state but was attending school at the University of Michigan.

His name has not been released.
