(WWJ) A man was taken to jail after police say he was caught speeding -- without a license and with an unregistered handgun in his car.

Michigan State Police made the bust on Tuesday, as troopers were patrolling the Metro South District, which includes Detroit.

While in the city, MSP said troopers observed a black Chrysler 300 driving over 100 mph while "aggressively weaving in and out of heavy traffic."

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested on charges of reckless driving and driving without a license.

When troopers searched the man's car, police said they found a unregistered Glock 43x on the rear passenger floorboard.

The driver, who identified as the registered owner of the vehicle, was found to not have a CPL (Concealed Pistol License) and was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon (CCW),

The suspect was lodged at the Detroit Detention Center to await an arraignment. His name was not immediately released.
