(WWJ) Didn't get a deer yet this season? You may still have a chance in Metro Detroit, through the end of the month.
The archery deer season has been extended until next Tuesday, January 31, 2023, for Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties to "manage ongoing human-deer conflicts," according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
A deer license, deer combo license or antlerless deer license are valid during the extended season. All rules and regulations for the archery season apply. (Use the Hunting Digest to find license info, hunting zones and hours, rules, regulations and more).
As a reminder, new this season: Online harvest reporting is now required for all hunters who successfully take a deer.
Michigan hunters have up to 72 hours after taking a deer to report their harvest.
There are two ways to do it:
• Report online at Michigan.gov/DNRHarvestReport.
• Use the DNR's new Hunt Fish Mobile App.
