(WWJ) -- A journalist who was held in Myanmar has been released, but he isn't the one from metro Detroit.
Nathan Maung was released from Insein prison early this morning after charges against him were dropped.
The brother of Danny Fenster, a journalist who grew up in Huntington Woods and is currently being held in Myanmar, tweeted that he's "overjoyed" for Nathan and his family, and remains hopeful and encouraged by the development.
Last week, Bryan Fenster urged President Biden to get involved in the case, since efforts to contact Danny have been unsuccessful.
“We have heard from everybody with the exception of the White House,” Bryan told NBC News.
Danny Fenster was on his way home to surprise his family last month when he was arrested at the airport.
The 37-year old has been working as the managing editor at Frontier Myanmar, which has been critical of the Myanmar government.
