WARREN (WWJ) -- Police shot at a fugitive, as he was allegedly trying to escape capture in Macomb County on Friday.

Michigan State Police said the shooting happened at around 11 a.m. at the Days Inn, near 14 Mile Rd. and Van Dyke in Warren.

Members of the US Marshal Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team were trying to arrest the man, whom MSP said has several violent felony warrants. As they were attempting to take him into custody, police said the suspect tried to drive away, dragging agents along with him.

One shot was fired by one of the team members, MSP said. No one was hit, and the suspect was eventually taken into custody.

Three agents with the team were hurt — suffering what MSP described as "rash injuries" from the dragging.

The suspect's name was not immediately released, pending an arraignment.

Detectives with the MSP Second District, Special Investigation Section are investigating the officer-involved shooting.
