$2,500 reward for tips in murder of Detroit man who was shot outside of home

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Family members of a Detroit man who died after being shot several times upon stepping out of his home are turning to the public for help.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a reward up to $2,500 for tips that lead to an arrest in connection to the fatal December 2020 shooting of Jonas Williams.

Officials said Williams was murdered on Tuesday, December 8 at approximately 9:55 p.m. when he stepped outside of his home in the 3600 block of Wayburn St. on Detroit's east side.

An unknown shooter approached on foot and fired multiple shots at him before fleeing.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
