
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Investigators with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of two men wanted for robbing a mail carrier in Southfield earlier this week.
According to authorities, the armed robbery occurred near the entrance to the Wakefield apartments on Tiffany Drive around 12:13 p.m.
Two suspects, described as males in their late teens, had in their possession a AK-47 pistol, also known as a Draco. After the robbery, the men took off on foot through the apartment complex and disappeared.
The men were said to be around 5' 8" tall with slim builds. They were last seen wearing ski masks and hooded sweatshirts.
Investigators released images of a vehicle they believe is connected to the crime. Stills of a newer model Mercedes-Benz sedan was captured on surveillance footage in the area of the robbery. Officials said it appears to be either a silver or grey S 580 with a moon roof.
