BRIGHTON TWP. (WWJ) -- A 20-year-old man from Utah is facing charges in Livingston County, after it's alleged he tried to lure a child into the woods.
Ryan Josue Rojas, of Herriman, Utah, was arraigned 53rd District Court on Sunday on one count of Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes.
At around 7 p.m. on May 27, police responded to a got a call about a suspicious person who'd approached an 8-year-old girl as she was riding her bike on Rosemary Lane in Brighton Twp.
Investigators said the man promised the 8-year-old "a surprise" if she followed him into some nearby woods.
The dad confronted the man, and he fled on a Segway-type vehicle.
Rojas was arrested following an investigation involving several police agencies.
Rojas' bond was set at $250,000, with the conditions that he wear a GPS tether and have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 if he is released.

Officials have not said what Rojas was doing in the area, but police did note that he appeared to be going door-to-door, and was wearing a pest control badge.
There was no immediate information about Rojas' next court date.
If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison and must register as a sex offender in Michigan.
