DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are asking for tips from the public as they continue to search for a driver wanted in connection with a deadly hit-and-run.
The crash happened back on Friday, Oct. 28 at 11:30 p.m., on the city’s west side, and investigations have yet to identify a suspect in the case.
According to authorities, the victim — a 46-year-old man — was walking in the street on Grand River Ave. near Maplewood Ave. when an unknown person driving a pickup truck hit him, fatally wounding him, and then drove off.
Video from a Project Greenlight camera, released by the Detroit Police Department, shows the suspect vehicle was a light-colored 2015 or 2016 Ford F-150 with an extended cab.
The truck sustained damage to the left side mirror and to the right rear wheel wall in the crash, police said.
Police are asking anyone who may be able to ID this wanted driver, or who has any information that could help investigators solve this case to call the DPD’s Fatal Squad Unit at 313-596-2260, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up (800-773-2587).
