COMMERCE TWP. (WWJ) -- The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help to identify and located a man who allegedly robbed a lingerie store in Commerce Township.
The robbery happened at around 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 22, according to police, at Intimate Ideas on Union Lake Road.
According to investigators, the suspect entered the business through a rear door while armed with a knife. He confronted a 19-year-old clerk and demanded money from the register. After the employee handed over some cash, officials said the man demanded even more money before fleeing the scene.
The suspect — who was caught on surveillance camera — is described as a white male, around 5'9'' inches tall, with dark facial hair. He was wearing baggy clothes, which made it difficult to estimate his weight.
The suspect was seen leaving the area in what's believed to be a black 2015-2018 Ford Focus.
Officials said the clerk was not physically harmed, and no customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.
As the investigation continues, the OCSO is asking anyone who was in the area that evening, or who might recognize the suspect, to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (800-773-2587).
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest, and all tipsters can remain anonymous.
