DETROIT (WWJ) -- If you've been waiting (impatiently) for a shift in the weather, you'll get your wish.
After May temperatures were mostly below normal in Metro Detroit, AccuWeather is calling for a decisive spring warmup, beginning this weekend and into next week.
AccuWeather said the big swing would come Saturday, when the high will reach up to 77 degrees. It will be sunny and and breezy, with a some rain expected, and thunderstorm possible in the afternoon in a few spots.
Sunday is looking like more of the same, with a warm high of 77 degrees and a thunderstorm again possible in the afternoon.
Monday it's going to feel like summer, Feerick said, with more sun and a high of 89 degrees. (Feerick note that does fall shot of the record high of 93 degrees for this date).
Tuesday will stay warm, with some wind, a few showers and a thunderstorm around, and a high of 85 degrees.

This past week, Metro Detroiters dealt with frost advisories and a chill, but WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson said we might finally be done with that.
"It looks overall warmer over the next couple of weeks, as the weather pattern starts to shift a bit," Thompson said. "It's not gonna be in the 80s all the time, but I think we'll have a lot of days in the 70s. And as we get deeper into May, of course, it's gets harder and harder to have these really chilly days."
