The driver -- a 29-year-old man from Warren -- then told the trooper that he had just “shot up” his apartment and wanted to turn himself in.

He was then detained by the trooper while the Warren Police Department went to his apartment complex to investigate. There, they discovered multiple bullet holes in the front door of the suspect’s residence.

State troopers searched the suspect’s vehicle and seized a firearm and his cell phone before taking him into custody.

The suspect was transported to Macomb County Jail on an outstanding warrant from Michigan State Police, while the Warren Police Department continues to investigate the apartment shooting.
