WARREN (WWJ) -- A Macomb County high school has closed for the day following a shooting threat made over social media.
Reports of the threat came in Sunday night through the OK2SAY app -- a confidential way to report criminal acts or threats made against schools, students or staff.
According to the report, an anonymous Snapchat user threatened to bring a gun to school.
A post on the Warren Consolidated Schools Facebook page announced that Warren Mott would be closed on Monday to keep students and staff safe while the threat was investigated.
Additionally, transportation was cancelled for Warren Mott students who attend other schools -- including the Career Preparation Center and Butcher Educational Center.
"Parents, please talk with your children today about using social media responsibly," wrote Superintendent Robert Livernois in regard to the social media threat, "because as we have shown many times before, the consequences are severe."
Anyone with questions about Monday's school closure, the cancelled busses, or the the threat made over Snapchat can contact Warren Mott HS.
Warren Mott HS is located on 12 Mile Road, west of Ryan Road
