WARREN (WWJ) -- A driving lesson ended in tragedy in Warren after an 18-year-old driver accidentally struck and killed her father, according to police.
The Warren Police Department said it responded to the scene around 4 p.m. on Sunday on of Warner Ave., in the area of 10 Mile Rd. and Dequindre.
Police said it's believed that a 62-year-old Warren man was giving his daughter a driving lesson when she hit him with the vehicle and dragged him a short distance, before coming to a stop.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and the dad was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The daughter stayed at the scene and is fully cooperating with authorities, police said.
Investigators stated that preliminary evidence aligns with the daughter's story about what happened, and neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to be factors in the crash.
