A polar bear cub at the Detroit Zoo took a romp in the snow for the very first time in a heartwarming post on the zoo's Instagram page.
She seemed in her element, and this little one has come a long way in only four months. The zoo says she seemed weak after birth and needed round-the-clock care and bottle feeding.
Now, she's able to drink formula from a bowl and weighs more than 20 pounds.
As for the other cub, the zoo says she's doing well and is expected to venture out of the maternity den in a few weeks.
It's a bright spot after tragedy: The zoo's male polar bear killed a female in a violent attack during a breeding attempt.
While an investigation into that is ongoing, the zoo reminded visitors about its two cubs who were born in November.
