Water main breaks causing headaches for residents in Northville, Grosse Pointe Park
(WWJ) - Multiple water main breaks are disputing residents on opposite ends of Metro Detroit as crews rush to address busted pipes in Grosse Pointe Park and Northville on Tuesday morning.
The Grosse Pointe Park Department of Public Safety said they are addressing a water main break that occurred in the area of St. Paul Street and Cadieux Road.
St. Paul is closed between Harvard and Cadieux as crews work the scene, officials said in an update around 8 a.m. Residents were warned that disruptions to service, including low water pressure, would likely occur.
The public safety department did not issue a boil water advisory for residents and said repairs would be made within four to six hours.
On the westside, a Nixle alert sent out to Northville residents informed them of a second water main break in as many days in the area of Maplewood between Grace and Horton.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area while repairs were being made. No boil water is in effect at this time.
Authorities said further updates about the main break would be communicated through Nixle.
On Monday, a water main break occurred on or near Taft.
