WATERFORD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A Waterford man was arrested and charged with having criminal sexual conduct with at least four boys ranging from seven to 13 years old.
In a press release; Waterford Police said their officers arrested Logan Sutherland, 21, at his home on Tuesday (8/27). Detectives were at his Waterford home to investigate a criminal sexual conduct complaint involving a 10-year-old boy. According to police, Sutherland had been alone with the boy 30 to 40 times from 2021 to 2023.
When police arrested Sutherland, detectives seized his cellphone. They found both videos and photographs of naked young boys on the phone, police said.
Three more victims— ages 7, 11 and 13— have come forward since the arrest. The victims reported the assaults took place in Sutherland’s home, ZapZone, and Sportway, all in Waterford Township, and SkyZone in Commerce Township.
According to police, all four victims knew Sutherland.
“He has befriended parents with young boys, gained their confidence, and used their trust to spend time alone and sexually assault their children,” the release said. “However, photos in Sutherland’s cell phone depicted several young boys, other than these four victims, who are unidentified.”
Sutherland was charged with four counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd Degree, each a 15-year felony; and two counts of Child Sexually Abusive-Aggravated Possession. The judge set his bond at $100,000 cash or surety only. He’s due back in court on September 10th.
Waterford Police ask that parents or guardians of children he may have had contact with, or anyone who knows children who spent time with him, contact Detective Rachel White at (248) 618-6122.
