PONTIAC (WWJ) -- A man was killed a woman was critically injured in a crash in Pontiac Thursday night.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, at around 8 p.m. on May 21, a Chevy HHR and a Jeep collided in the intersection of Woodward Ave. and University Drive.
The Chevy driver, identified as 50-year-old Nahum Ponce Quevedo of Waterford Township, was found unconscious and not breathing on the scene. Deputies performed CPR, and he was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Quevedo's passenger, a 25-year-old Waterford Township woman, was taken to a hospital were she remained in critical condition Friday morning.
Neither was wearing a seatbelt, officials said.
The Jeep driver, a 55-year-old Waterford Township man, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
Officials are still working to determine who was at fault for the crash, but said alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
Autopsy results are pending, and an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is ongoing.
