MACKINAC COUNTY (WWJ) -- A semi-truck driver was arrested by the Michigan State Police after a traffic stop on the Mackinac Bridge reveals additional violations.

A Motor Carrier Officer with the MSP St. Ignace Post was doing a proactive patrol on the bridge on March 25. At 6:48 p.m., they saw a semi-truck with a trailer that was speeding and “operating in a hazardous manner,” according to the MSP Eighth District X account.

A traffic stop was initiated due to the violations. During the stop, the officer determined 54-year-old Eric Koroscik, of Kingwood, Texas, had an active warrant. He was arrested without incident.

Further investigation and a search of the truck reportedly revealed multiple illegal weapons. Authorities said Koroscik didn’t have a Concealed Pistol License.

The following items were seized:

• Fifteen double-edged knives, including three equipped with brass knuckle handles

• Two throwing stars, each with four double-edged sides

• Two additional sets of brass knuckles, including one spiked set

• Five loaded pistols

• One loaded rifle

• One shotgun

• One large double-edged sword with a 32-inch blade

Along with the weapons, two open containers of alcohol were found. The MSP statement said he also allegedly falsified his electronic logging device records.

Koroscik was taken to the Mackinac County Jail.

He was arraigned in the 92nd District Court on one count of carrying a concealed weapon and issued a personal recognizance bond on March 26. Additional charges are reportedly being sought for other violations.

Koroscik is scheduled in court again on April 10.
