WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) -- A West Bloomfield police officer is being treated for minor injuries after a car crash on Friday.

The crash happened before 11 a.m., at the intersection of 14 Mile Rd. and Haggerty Rd. in West Bloomfield.

Police told WWJ Newsradio 950's Luke Sloan that the officer was responding to an initial crash in that area, when their patrol car was involved in another crash nearby.

That officer suffered what were described as only minor injuries, police said, and was getting checked out at a medical facility. The driver of the other car involved in the crash was not hurt.

It's unclear who was at fault for the wreck, as the investigation continues.

The intersection was closed for a time, with multiple police units and EMS on the scene, but has since reopened re-opened to traffic.

No further information was released.
