
(WWJ) – Detroit is widely known for a variety of things – most notably, putting the world on wheels. It’s called the Motor City for a reason.
But Detroit also has a proud history of music, from Motown, to rock legends like Bob Seger, and of course, rap.
More than 30 Detroit-based musical acts have been inducted into the Rock Hall, most recently rap icon Eminem.
While the perfect description of the Detroit rap scene may be difficult to pinpoint, its impact is impossible to miss. So where does Detroit sit in the rap music scene? WWJ’s Zach Clark takes a look in a new edition of The Daily J podcast.
