(WWJ) A Sterling Heights man who goes by the street name "White Boy Joe" has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes following a task force investigation in Macomb County and Detroit.
On Jan. 20, the Macomb County Sheriff's Enforcement Team (S.E.T.), assisted by members of the Drug Enforcement Agency's Fantom Team, raided homes in both Detroit and Sterling Heights, and 27-year-old Jonathan Lindsay — a.k.a. 'White Boy Joe" — was arrested.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, the probe began several months earlier, when S.E.T. received a tip about a person not only selling fentanyl to Macomb County residents, but also enlisting to sell the dangerous narcotic.
An undercover operation eventually led investigators to Lindsay, officials said. Warrants then turned up evidence at his home on Burke Ct. in Sterling Heights — including cell phones, a money counting machine and keys to a home on Liberal St. in Detroit.
In the Detroit house, officers found several weapons, ammunition, more cell phones, narcotic packaging materials, marijuana and fentanyl, officials said. One of the weapons located had been reported stolen and the others were unregistered.
Lindsay was lodged at the Macomb County Jail and arraigned last Thursday on the following counts:
- Controlled Substance - Delivery/Manufacture (Cocaine. Heroin or Another Narcotic) Less Than 50 Than 50 Grams (felony)
- Weapons - Firearms - Receiving and Concealing (felony)
- Weapons - Firearms - Possession by Felon (felony)
- Controlled Substance - Maintaining a Drug House (misdemeanor)
Lindsey was arraigned in 38th District Court in Eastpointe, an ordered held on a $25,000 cash or surety bond, with a tether if he's released.
He is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause conference on Feb. 2.
