PONTIAC (WWJ) A White Lake Township man died in a minibike crash in Pontiac after he struck a utility pole, sheriffs' officials said.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened on Saturday, June 7, around 1:30 p.m. in the area of North Cass Avenue and Cesar E. Chavez Avenue. They said the man, 46, was riding his minibike when it left the road and crashed into a utility pole, throwing him the minibike.
Authorities identified the man as Terrance Dale Fulgenzi. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Witnesses told deputies that Fulgenzi and six others were driving minibikes on the road "while weaving in and out of traffic," according to sheriffs' officials.
Investigators said Fulgenzi was not wearing a helmet. They added he had not registered his minibike with the Secretary of State, and it was not legal to be driven on the road.
The Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation.
