GROSSE ILE (WWJ) Grosse Ile Police are looking for tips after someone stole one of their speed signs.

In a statement on Facebook; they said the suspect stole the sign “at some point over the weekend” from in front of Meridian Elementary on Meridian near Groh.

“These signs play a vital role in areas where speed complaints are prevalent, helping to remind drivers to slow down and maintain safe speeds,” police said.

Investigators said one of the bolts has saw marks (pictured below)— showing the suspect intentionally cut the sign from its post.
