DETROIT (WWJ) -- You'll want to be extra careful while driving today.

A Wind Advisory is now in effect for all of Southeast Michigan, through midnight Friday.

The National Weather Service says winds will be gusting between 45 to 50 miles an hour, which can make driving hazardous — especially for those driving high-profile vehicles. The strongest winds with this event are expected Friday afternoon, with the NWS warning that even stronger gusts of 55 mph could occur in the Thumb, near the shoreline.

Metro Detroiters are urged to lock down any unsecured objects outdoors, to keep them from getting blown around.

Minor tree damage is also possible, according to the weather services, an there could be some spotty power outages around.

WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean DeVore said we're going to get some more rain as well.

"We had pockets about an inch-and-a-half to two inches around Metro Detroit yesterday (Thursday). Today I'm looking at an additional half-inch to an inch," DeVore said. "So, we won't get as much relief as we would like from the areas of standing water and flooding."

"But we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel," he said, "as we continue to see a dry out later tonight into tomorrow, and then warmer conditions for the weekend ahead. So, it is going to get better...just not so much today."

In Detroit, AccuWeather is calling for a high of 61 degrees with sunshine on Saturday and a high of 73 degrees on Sunday, with sunshine before a thunderstorm possible in the evening.
