25¢ of every dollar spent on gas at Wixom station to help family of murdered sheriff's deputy, now through Thursday

Wixom Marathon donating money to help fallen deputy's family
Eddie Osman

WIXOM (WWJ) -- The tragedy of a law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty has, again, moved an area businessman to help out.

Eddie Osman is donating 25¢ for every gallon of gasoline sold today and tomorrow (June 26 and 27, 2024) to the family of Oakland County Sheriff Deputy Brad Reckling, who was shot and killed while working an auto theft investigation last Saturday.

For Osman it's nothing new, as Osman just raised $15,000 January for the family of a Michigan State Police trooper who was hit and killed during a traffic stop on I-75:

"I prayed to God that I don't have to do that again, because I don't want to see anything like that happening again," Osman told WWJ Newsradio 950's Mike Campbell. "But it happened, and I'm not going to sit and watch. I'm going to do whatever I can to help this family."

In 2012, Osman raised $12,000 for a fallen West Bloomfield Police Officer's wife and three elementary school-age daughters and infant son.

The Wixom Food & More is located at 29330 Wixom Rd., north of I-96 in Wixom.

Osman has also gotten other businesses involved, including the Wendy's next door (29480 Wixom Rd.), which will donate $1 per combo meal sold during the 48-hour period to the Reckling family.

A GoFundMe page has also been organized to help support Reckling's family.
