FRASER (WWJ) -- A Macomb County man faces possible life in prison if he's convicted as charged with kidnapping a woman at gunpoint, and then raping her at his home.

Last Sunday, a woman reported to Fraser Police that she'd been abducted at gunpoint in Detroit by a stranger. She said the unknown man drove her to a home in the 16000 block of 13 Mile Road in Fraser, where he sexually assaulted her.

When Fraser detectives set up surveillance at the location, they saw a man who matched the description the victim provided.

That man, identified as 39 year old Mario Davis, was then arrested as he was leaving the house.

Officers with a search warrant later searched the home, where they found a gun matching the weapon the victim described, along with other evidence, police said.

Davis has since been arraigned in 39th District Court on three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the 1st degree — weapon used (life felony), and three counts of felony firearm.

On Thursday, police said Davis remained held in the Macomb County Jail on a $500,000 cash or surety bond.

Anyone with information about this suspect, or similar crimes in the area, is urged to call D/Sgt. Ben Hoppe at 586-293-2000, ext. 218.
