(WWJ) A Detroit woman, wanted in connection to an armed robbery at a bank in Warren, has been arrested and charged.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged the woman, 33, with Bank Robbery, Armed Robbery, and Felony Firearm offenses. The formal arraignment is slated for next week.

Warren Police say investigators arrested the woman "without incident" more than two weeks after she was accused of holding a Fifth Third Bank employee at gunpoint during a robbery.

Police told WWJ that the suspect approached a bank employee, produced a handgun, and demanded money.

According to Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer, officers were dispatched to the Fifth Third Bank on Van Dyke near 13 Mile on September 15 around 11 a.m.

The suspect ran off with an undisclosed amount of money the employee had handed her, according to police.

No one was injured.

Warren Police released a security footage screen grab within 24 hours of the crime, asking the public to help identify the suspect and for any tips that may lead to her identification and arrest. Police said additional evidence found at the crime scene lead them to an arrest.

Commissioner Dwyer thanked the officers who worked on this case: “Our officers responded to the scene quickly and were able to gather critical evidence in this case. Our investigators worked tirelessly and followed many leads, ultimately leading to the identification of this female suspect.”

Warren Police say they also plan to execute a search warrant on her home and car to look for more evidence.

The suspect’s name and photo will be released following a formal arraignment.
