(WWJ) A 24-year-old woman is being held on a $1 million bond, charged with the premediated murder of her boyfriend in Detroit.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said 24-year-old Kiantay Lovett-McCall was arraigned in 34th District Court Sunday on one count of first degree murder and one count of felony firearm in connection with the shooting death of 31-year-old Willie Mills.
According to investigators, Lovett-McCall and Mills got into an argument at the home they shared in the 18090 block of Griggs, just east of the Lodge Fwy., early in the morning of Jan. 1.
After the situation escalated and the fight turned physical, it's alleged that Lovett-McCall went and got her gun and shot Mills multiple times.
Police arrived at around 1:30 a.m. to find the woman outside the home, and the victim lying dead on the floor inside.
Lovett-McCall was arrested at the scene and taken to the Wayne County Jail, where she awaits her next court appearance, which has not yet been scheduled.
Authorities have not said what the couple was arguing about.
This was Detroit's first homicide of 2021.
