CHELSEA (WWJ) - An alarming drugging incident reported by a 40-year-old woman at the Chelsea distillery nearly two weeks ago has prompted a police investigation -- and officers are looking for information.

The Chelsea Police Department said in a prepared statement that the woman was at the Ugly Dog Distillery in the 200 block of S Main Street, roughly 16 miles west of Ann Arbor, on Saturday, April 29, when she claims she began experiencing symptoms of being drugged.

The woman told police she couldn't walk or stand and eventually blacked out after taking a sip of her drink.

According to police, the woman's husband took her home as her condition worsened. She was eventually rushed to the hospital and later released.

Both the woman and her husband suspect someone slipped something in the beverage that she drank from.

Representatives for the Ugly Dog Distillery declined to comment to Mlive, citing the pending investigation.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact Officer Tom Gilbreath at 734-475-9122 ext. 107 or leave a tip at 734-475-9122.
