CANTON (WWJ) -- A woman is hospitalized after she was hit by a car, early Monday morning in Canton Township.
According to a release by the Canton Public Safety Department, the crash happened just after 1 a.m., at the intersection of Michigan Ave. and Haggerty Rd.
Investigators said that 21-year-old man from Detroit was driving a silver Acura on Michigan Ave. when he hit a pedestrian, identified as a 39-year-old Canton woman, who was crossing at the intersection.
Police said the woman was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said, but an investigation by the Canton Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team is ongoing.
No names were released.
