
BATH TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A woman is dead after she was found curled up in the snow and in freezing temperatures outside her Michigan assisted living community home on Friday morning.
As reported by FOX 2, a snow plow driver spotted the 82-year-old in the snow outside Timber Ridge Village in Bath Township, northeast of Lansing, around 7:10 a.m.
Caregivers at the facility were notified and the woman was brought inside before she was transported to Sparrow Hospital for further care.
The woman died at the hospital due to her exposure to the cold.
It is currently unknown how or why the woman was outside. An investigation into her death is ongoing by local authorities.
Mid-Michigan, including Bath Township, experienced dangerously cold temperatures on Friday with life-threatening wind chills below zero degrees.
