ST. CLAIR COUNTY (WWJ) -- A woman is dead and another is in custody following a dispute stemming from a love triangle in St. Clair County.

According to officials, a 44-year-old man called 911 around 4 a.m. on Tuesday to report that an assault had occurred earlier that evening, and that one woman involved was no longer conscious.

When deputies arrived at the man’s home on South Main Street in Capac, they found a 44-year-old Almont woman who was unresponsive but still breathing.

The victim and another 44-year-old woman, identified as Raquelle Casillas, had reportedly been fighting on-and-off for days over a shared relationship with the man, and their arguing had turned physical.

The Almont woman — whose identify has not yet been released by authorities — had sustained severe head trauma and was taken to McLaren Hospital in Lapeer, where she died on Thursday from her injuries.

According to neighbors, police had been to the home numerous times in response to similar incidents.

Casillas has been charged with open murder and is currently being held in St. Clair County jail without bond.
