STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- A woman is dead after being shot by her brother in Sterling Heights, reportedly over a business dispute.
Police said the shooting happened in a parking lot along 19 Mile Rd. near Mound Rd. at around 9 a.m. Friday.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 54-year-old woman on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
The woman later died at the hospital.
Police told reporters that investigators believe both the shooter and the victim had handguns, and there was a shootout in the parking lot.
The brother remained at the scene, and is reportedly being questioned by police.
No names have been released as the investigation continues.
