DETROIT (WWJ) A stabbing in downtown Detroit left a woman dead and a man in custody.
Police said the crime happened on Sunday, September 20, around 2:20 p.m., on Woodward near Congress, less than a half mile from Campus Martius.
First responders took the victim in her 20s to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities arrested a man in his 40s.
Police told WWJ their preliminary investigation suggests the suspect and the victim did not know each other.
Authorities did not release the victim's name, city of residence or exact age.
Detroit Police said they will release more information at a later time.
