CLINTON TWP. (WWJ) -- A Macomb County woman is in police custody after allegedly stabbing a man multiple times, before causing a multi-car crash on Hall Road.
Clinton Township Police said the investigation began at around 7:45 p.m. Thursday, when police responded to a domestic violence call at the Garfield Commons Apartment Complex, in the area of 18 Mile Rd. and Garfield.
Police said it's alleged the woman stabbed a 24-year-old man with a knife, before jumping into a black Chevy Trax and speeding away.
Just minutes later, police said the woman caused a multi-vehicle crash along eastbound Hall Rd, west of Romeo Plank Rd.
There were a total of eight cars involved in the pileup, police said, which ended with the Trax on top of one of the seven other vehicles involved.
The woman was treated at a local hospital, according to police, before being released into the custody of the Clinton Township Police Department.
The man she allegedly stabbed suffered numerous stab wounds to his neck and upper torso, police said. As of Friday morning, he remained hospitalized in stable condition.
The suspect was in jail on Friday, awaiting an arraignment on expected charges. Her name has not yet been released.
"The Clinton Township Police Department would like to thank the Clinton Township Fire Department, the Macomb County Communications and Technology Center (COMTEC), and Medstar Ambulance for their assistance," police said, in a statement.
There are no details at this time about what led up to the stabbing.
