ASH TWP. (WWJ) — An Ohio woman has died after crashing head-on into a pickup truck in Monroe County Saturday night.
The 53-year-old Toledo woman was driving her Toyota Camry south on Telegraph Road shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday when she lost control and crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic near Indian Trail Road in Ash Township, according to Michigan State Police.
The Camry slammed into a Chevy Silverado driven by a 26-year-old Monroe County man. He and three passengers in the woman’s car were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the crash remains under investigation, MSP officials say speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
Troopers were assisted by Ash Township Fire Department, Frenchtown Township Fire Department, and Monroe Community Ambulance.
