
PARK TWP. (WWJ) -- An apparent consumer fireworks accident led to one death and multiple injuries in West Michigan Monday night.
Authorities said a 43-year-old Holland woman was killed and nine other people were injured when a firework exploded in Ottawa County's Park Township.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. at a home on Main Street near N. 160th Avenue.
The injured people were all taken to local hospitals with injuries "ranging from minor to critical," the sheriff's office said.
The woman who died was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived, and although they attempted life-saving measures she was pronounced dead at the scene,
Several homes and vehicles were also damaged in the incident.
It's still not clear exactly what happened, as the incident remains under investigation.
The woman's name was not immediately released.
