SHELBY TWP. (WWJ) — A woman is dead and another person is hospitalized following a rollover crash in Macomb County Monday night.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. along Hayes Road south of 21 Mile Road, near the Shelby Township-Macomb Township border, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office says two cars crashed and one ended up rolling over, though the cause of the crash is not yet clear.
A woman driving one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her age and hometown were not immediately released.
A second person was taken to the hospital, but their condition was not known.
Authorities have not released the names of anyone involved in the crash.
Hayes Road remained closed between 21 Mile and Hall Road for several hours Monday night as authorities investigated.
