TROY (WWJ) -- A Rochester Hills woman is facing her third drunken driving charge after she was arrested in Troy last Tuesday.

Shortly after noon on Dec. 2, Troy Police were called to John R Road and E. Maple Rd., on a report of a 2017 Audi Q7 that was stopped in the roadway blocking traffic.

When officers arrived, they found the vehicle in the left lane of John R. with a 45-year-old Rochester Hills woman asleep wheel with a bottle of alcohol on the passenger seat, police said.

When officers woke the driver up and questioned her, they said they noted that her breath smelled strongly like booze.

After failing a series of sobriety evaluations, the driver submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .282% BAC (blood alcohol concentration), police said. That's more than three times the legal limit to drive in Michigan.

The woman was then arrested and taken to the Troy Police lock-up where a Chemical Breath Test showed results of .31% and .32%.

Police said the driver was charged with Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense. Her name was not immediately released.
