HOUGHTON LAKE (WWJ) -- A Michigan woman is behind bars on attempted murder charges, after it's alleged she tried to stab her husband to death.
Michigan State Police responded to a call at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from a man who'd been stabbed at a home in Prudenville, an unincorporated community located about five miles east of Houghton Lake.
When troopers arrived, they found the 47-year-old victim, with multiple stab wounds. He told them him his wife had stabbed him multiple times before feeling in the family vehicle.
The man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, before being transferred to a Flint hospital for surgery.
While police were on the scene, they were notified by Roscommon County Central Dispatch that the suspect had driven the vehicle into Houghton Lake, at the end of Liberty Street near Houghton View Drive.
Officers responded and took the 42-year-old Prudenville woman into custody, MSP said.
She was taken to a hospital for treatment of possible injuries before being booked into the Roscommon County jail on charges of Assault with Intent to Murder and Felonious Assault.
Her name is being withheld pending her arraignment.
MSP said this case remains under investigation.
