ANN ARBOR (WWJ) – Police are investigating after a fight and stabbing in Ann Arbor early Monday morning left a man and a woman hospitalized.
Ann Arbor police were called to the 700 block of Miller Avenue around 12:30 a.m. after receiving reports of an altercation outside a home involving multiple men and a woman.
When police showed up they found a 52-year-old man unresponsive after being stabbed. A 39-year-old woman was also stabbed during the incident, according to Ann Arbor police.
Early indications show the 52-year-old suspect confronted a 50-year-old male acquaintance and woman, police officials said. An argument ensued and the 52-year-old suspect began hitting the woman.
During the altercation, she stabbed the suspect in his thigh and right arm, according to police. The woman also suffered multiple stab wounds during the incident.
The 52-year-old man is hospitalized in critical condition after undergoing surgery, according to police. The female victim is hospitalized with what authorities say appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials said the incident was not random and there is no threat to the community.
