70-year-old Woodhaven man dies in crash pulling out of Mid-Michigan hotel parking lot

WOODHAVEN (WWJ) A Woodhaven man died in a crash in Mid-Michigan while pulling out of a hotel parking lot, police said.

Michigan State Police (MSP) said the crash happened in Union Township, which borders Mount Pleasant, on Saturday, August 2nd around 10:00 a.m.

According to MSP; the man, 70, was turning eastbound out of a Holiday Inn and Suites parking lot on East Pickard Road at the time of the crash. A driver in a Chevrolet pickup truck, traveling in the opposite direction, struck his Ford Edge SUV.

The driver of the pickup-- a 50-year-old Rosebush man-- was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The Woodhaven man died at the scene.

His name was not released.

Authorities said the MSP Mt. Pleasant Post continues to investigate the incident.
