SOUTHGATE (WWJ) -- What started as a dispute with an order and name-calling ended in hot coffee, minor burns, and now a lawsuit against Tim Hortons.

Dusty Jackson from Lincoln Park is suing Tim Hortons, claiming a 16-year-old employee threw coffee in her face on Oct. 30 while she was in the drive-thru line at the location on Northline Road.

According to Jackson, she got to the window and tried to add Timbits to her order, when the employee denied her request and slammed the window.

She says she then turned to her boyfriend and called the employee an expletive, and that’s when the teen hurled coffee through the window at her, causing minor burns.

Police body camera footage shows the aftermath, with both Jackson and her car covered in coffee.

A statement from Tim Horton’s says there’s no comment pending litigation, but it is looking into the incident with the franchisee.

Southgate Police are also continuing to investigation the situation.
